Statement
My art explores the concept of Wholeness or Oneness through color, form natural dyes, lines, shapes and textures to create a diverse combination that represents broken cycles and the whole. Color and shapes symbolize wholeness, where individual parts combine to create a unified whole. Each shade or shape is a necessary aspect, showcasing their interconnectedness.
This theme resonates with my own life as a fiber artist, biochemist and pharmacist – seemingly disparate roles that share a common thread: the pursuit of understanding life’s mysteries.
I navigate the world with both intuition and reason. While logic unravels facts,my unconscious mind often guides me towards a deeper, holistic understanding. This unique blend allows me to access a sense of wholeness within myself and with nature.
Growing up in Argentina during turbulent times, granddaughter of eastern European immigrants, and navigating cultural differences after immigrating to the US have shaped my journey. Home sometimes becomes a difficult term to define.
Working with native Florida plants for natural dyes offers me a powerful connection to my adopted home. Through nature and color, I feel a growing sense of belonging. In nature I find a sense of home, of wholeness.
